President Obama’s campaign and inaugural speech comments over the last year, and similarly the New York Times op-eds, have loudly proclaimed a battered and broken America. Now, according to President Obama, we usher in new era of repair of our wounded country - given that “the people have spoken”.

No, the American people have not spoken. 47% of the American people did not vote for this President and do not subscribe to his vision of our country and it’s people as wounded and battered. This is not 3%, or 10%. It is virtually 5 out of every ten Americans. The America the 47% live in is very different from President Obama’s America.
Obama, and his minions have described an America in need if change and their intention to ‘fix’ it. “The Dawn of a New America”. One might think they were describing a third world country. Their America is a nation which is in decline, it’s economy plunging, has lost it’s leadership role in the world, it’s work force, housing and businesses in tatters, and it’s citizens health needs ignored.
Obama’s environment has been poisoned and ignored by citizens much less enlightened than he and his citizens of the ‘New America’. Obama’s pre-inaugural America has chosen fear over hope, and safety over ideals, and has failed to make hard choices for the future, and is ‘covered with dust’. “The American people” Obama has described are sapped of confidence, fear our decline, are lowering their sights, and living in fear of an unknown future which he has told them to “hope” to “change”. Our new president and his minions and wife have described pre-Obama citizens of The United States of America as wounded, broken, in despair and in possession of wounded spirits and souls.
Wow! We live in a real life hell on earth. Thank heaven it will no longer be that way. But then, without describing our nation and it’s citizens that way, and by cynically, cleverly, and skillfully exploiting an inexplicable cultural personal dislike of George Bush - and then attributing that hell to George Bush’s policies - Obama would never have been elected.
The America of the 47% has neither lost it’s leadership in the world, nor is it in decline. We do not confuse the natural rise of countries in Europe and Asia, (whose cultures and economies were destroyed and set back 50 years in World War Two) with a decline in our own. When famine, disease, natural or man made disasters, and conquering invaders set upon other countries, whom do they call? France? No, they call the America that the 47% live in, a country of leadership. In world crisis after world crisis, would the world call a country in decline for help? No! They call the country the 47% live in. They would not call a country such as the one Obama describes. More people immigrated to the country the 47% live in in the last few years, than migrated to all the countries of the E.U. combined in the same period. Did they choose to migrate to a country of decline or lost leadership?
The country the 47% live in has a 93.5 employment rate, has tens of millions of mortgage owners who did not lose their homes, and 95 of it’s businesses are still in business if not expanding. The United States of the 47% is a country where all of it’s citizens have some access to either federal, state, county, city, private or charitable health care, albeit not necessarily to their complete satisfaction. Americans are not dying at hospital doorsteps. Why? because the America the 47% live in has always looked out for it’s citizens. The “change” Obama “hopes” for has been a way of life in America long before Obama’s inauguration ... including the eight years previous.
The America of the 47% has always made hard choices with the future in mind. What arrogance for Obama to suggest that has not been a feature of the United States until his inauguration, and it has done so in times and conditions far worse than what he has inherited. How ironic that his only accomplishments thus far have been to undo some of the hardest decisions ever made by a president.
Obama has said that his America's "decline" is due in part to some of America's greedy and irresponsible citizens. The America of the 47% has long been the most giving and charitable country in history, both within our borders and through out the world. How mind boggling to suggest we need to “commit ourselves to service”. It has always been so President Obama. The commitment of Americans to service did not begin with your inauguration. Clearly greedy and irresponsible people will vanish under your administration.
The non-Obama America is not populated with citizens whose souls are wounded, whose spirits broken, who are filled with bitterness, and contend with rampant racism, nor do we elect a president to heal our souls and spirits. In a country as racist as advertised, the 2008 presidential election would surely have had a different outcome.
The America of the 47% does not need to “build roads, electric lines, bridges, and digital” to “bind us together”. The America of the 47% has already done that. It is that very digital capability which contributed in large part to President Obama’s election. America could also use a definition of what “bind together” actually means in a country of three hundred million bruised, battered, and broken spirited citizens.
How dare Obama’s inaugural speech mention sacrifices and service of men and woman in Concord, Gettysburg, Normandy and Khe Sahn as examples of those who contributed to our greatness as a nation, and then deliberately (yes, deliberately) omit the sacrifices in Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Is he so trapped by the ideology of disavowing George Bush, that he cannot now acknowledge these men and woman because their sacrifice occurred under that administration? These wars are occurring while he made his speech, yet silence. This is not the ideology of the country of the 47%.
The Americans of the 47% display their flags, express their patriotism, and take pride in their country regardless of which party’s president has won the election. These traits are not conditional. The country of the 47% will acknowledge the president as “The President of the United States” regardless of who wins, and will not spend the next four years displaying hate filled bumper stickers because their guy didn’t win.
The America of the 47% has not “chosen security over ideals” and never has. (Yet Obama decries “tired mantras” while feeling free to use them). Obama would be hard pressed to prove such a vague claim and would discover that most such claims have already been dealt with by the Supreme Court and Congress in the last few years .... and the government has adjusted accordingly. Perhaps some day Obama will be presented with a map found in a terrorist’s possession with an unknown ‘X’ on Highland Park in Chicago and will have to make the same hard decision which his predecessor made ... but alas Obama has already voided that decision.
The America of the 47% has never chosen fear over hope as Obama has suggested and this is not a feature of their America. The America of the 47% hopes only to improve on a true and shining beacon which is their country. It is today, it was the day before the inauguration, and will continue to be.
America is not covered with dust.
